The Big Kid at the Table

Next Monday, September 28, District 6900 Governor Cynthia Dorsey Edwards joins us for lunch — then extends her stay to have dinner at President Jeff Clark's house. Bring your best Rotary small talk; she's heard it all.

In 1915 Rotary carved out Georgia into its own District 690. We became "6900" in 1991. Today we're the largest of the three Georgia districts, one of fourteen in Zone 34 — and, frankly, we're the big kid at the table. Zones 33/34 average about 2,130 members and 55 clubs per district. District 6900 runs 67 clubs and 3,800+ Rotarians — nearly 80% bigger than the zone average. We don't just show up to the potluck; we bring the whole casserole.

The generosity matches the size: nearly $500,000 in Foundation-designated giving last year alone, and a #1 ranking in Zone 34 for both PolioPlus and Annual Fund for several years running. 

Governor Edwards — two-time Stone Mountain club president and personal sponsor of 20 new Rotarians — arrives with a "lasting impact" message, and Monday's dinner is where we'll show off our signature projects and how community engagement, social media, and standout speakers are fueling membership growth — growth already on display: new member Jay Gibson recently traded club flags at the storied Geneva Yacht Club, Société Nautique de Genève, carrying Buckhead Rotary's colors onto the shores of Lake Geneva.

Healthy Pet Event as part of the Pawsitivity Partnership with LifeLine

Get ready to make a huge impact at the upcoming Healthy Pet event in our Pawsitivity Partnership with LifeLine! As the proud sponsors of this incredible day on October 17th, Buckhead Rotary is helping provide essential vaccinations, microchipping, and spay/neuter vouchers for over 1,500 local pets.

This is a fantastic, hands-on volunteer opportunity where you can directly engage with animals while helping families check in and navigate the event. It’s completely family-friendly, so bring the kids along to join the fun. Plus, LifeLine is providing breakfast, coffee, and lunch for all volunteers.

Whether you can take on a full shift starting early in the morning or just drop by to show your Rotary pride alongside Fulton County Commissioner Khadijah Abdur-Rahman, your presence will make a difference.

Thirsty Thirdsdays: Tonight at Rosa's House

Our monthly home fellowship gathering is tonight! 

When Paul Harris started Rotary in 1905, he wasn't trying to launch a global service organization. He was a young lawyer new to Chicago who wanted friends. The service came next, and it's been that way ever since.

It's also written into the Four-Way Test we live by: Will it build goodwill and better friendships?

That's why we take fellowship seriously. The ham haul, Horizons, and our work with LifeLine all run on relationships. Trust built over a drink on a back porch is what gets people showing up at 6 a.m. to load hams, or making the call that opens a door for a partner. We serve better because we actually know each other.
