Good news: Richard Harker, President and CEO of the Historic Oakland Foundation, is doing well. His car was totaled on Monday morning just before our meeting, but he walked away without a scratch. It turns out even the head of Oakland Cemetery isn’t ready to become a permanent resident. He invites everyone to check out Oakland Cemetery’s Halloween tours next year.
Monday’s Pink Out turned the room into a sea of pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Thank you for showing up in color, it was an impressive display - especially Miriam's high heels! Special thanks to Liz Loretti, who stepped up on the spot to share powerful insights on the issue and about her organization, IRIS.

This Halloween, my biggest fear is an empty ballot box. Early voting is still open this week, and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Please do your research then get out there and VOTE (https://mvp.sos.ga.gov/)
Friday is Glow Chastain starting at 5pm at the C…, and costumes are a must. Bring a bag of candy to hand out and brace yourself: our Horizons Atlanta scholars will judge us at our booth, and they show no mercy. Best costume wins a $100 gift certificate to Valenza. Better yet, you’ll meet the kids your Rotary Club is supporting. Dignity is optional. Showing up with a great costume is not.
Then, on Sunday, Nov. 1, we cheer on Atlanta United against Toronto at 4:30 p.m. Tickets went out electronically this week. If yours vanished like a ghost, email Allie Geisler at alliegeisler@td.com.

Happy Halloween! Looking forward to seeing you Friday, in costume!
On Monday, we’re welcoming David Cummings, the mastermind behind Atlanta Tech Village, Pardot, and Atlanta Ventures.

Mark your calendars: from April 22 to 25, 2027, District 6900 heads to Asheville, North Carolina, for our annual District Conference, and we want a big Buckhead Rotary group there with us.
Here are three reasons to come along:
Friendships that last. District Conference gives us something our Monday lunches can't: four days together. There are shared meals, long conversations and evenings out with fellow Buckhead Rotarians. Some of the best friendships in this club started at a District Conference, and yours could be next.
Rotary beyond our club. You'll meet Rotarians from clubs across District 6900, hear what they're working on, and come home with new ideas and new friends. It's the best way to see the power of Rotary beyond our own club.
The Blue Ridge, Rotary-style. Asheville is one of the most beautiful cities in the Southeast. It sits in the Blue Ridge Mountains and is known for its art, food and views. Seeing it in a Rotarian setting, alongside friends, makes it even better.
How to register. Registration is $350 per person. The host hotels are the Embassy Suites and the DoubleTree in downtown Asheville. Book the group rate through the links on the event page, and your room comes with breakfast tickets. The registration fee goes up on January 1, so sign up early.

See you in Asheville!
