Twas the Night of Giving and Spreading Holiday Cheer at the Shepherd Center

Twas the night before Christmas and all through the hospital, four members were on the move, bringing holiday cheer to Shepherd Center patients and children during the Christmas Eve dinner service. Instead of sugarplums, members Miriam Falaki, Sam Alston (not pictured), President Shelley Hammell and her husband Joe delivered Elf on the Shelf Plushee Pals, sparking smiles, laughter, and a little extra magic for young patients spending the holiday in the hospital.

Buckhead Rotarians and The Lumistella Company, the women-led creators of the beloved Elf on the Shelf universe, generously donated these Plushee Pals. Shepherd Center is a nationally recognized hospital specializing in rehabilitation for people with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, and other complex neurological conditions. We were honored to share a small gesture of kindness and show these young patients, and their families, that they are not alone this holiday season.
