District Conference Highlights

Several Buckhead Rotarians attended the district conference at Lake Lanier Islands last weekend. It was an inspiring few days filled with fresh ideas, meaningful learning, and great fellowship with other clubs in our district. We had the opportunity to share best practices, gain new insights, and strengthen connections that will help us continue making an impact in our community.
And the weekend brought some exciting recognition for our club. Out of 67 clubs in the district, we were honored to be one of only seven to receive the Governor’s Citation. This award recognizes clubs for exceptional service, high-level achievement in key areas such as club growth, foundation giving, service projects, and public image. This is a testament to the dedication and service of our members to continue to strive to be the best Rotary club.
We also proudly took home the Public Image Award in Category IV for large clubs, highlighting the strong presence and visibility we are gaining in our community. And to top it off, one of our very own, Alec Smythe, was recognized with the Above and Beyond Award, an incredible and well-deserved honor. It was a weekend that not only celebrated what we’ve accomplished but also energized us for what’s ahead.
