Our monthly Thirsty Thirdsday social brought together 30 Rotarians and their guests for a fun evening. A big thank you to Jeff and Nanette Nicholson for hosting us in their lovely home, where a relaxed atmosphere allowed for deeper conversations and for us to connect with each other. Mark your calendar for the next Thirsty Thirdsday on November 20th when we head to Jeff Clark's home. Our first Rotary on the Road luncheon at the Fulton County Animal Shelter was a tremendous success. Forty members and guests were treated to a Mexican spread from Moe's, (thanks to Kari Kirkley for arranging), and a tour of the 50,000-square-foot facility run by LifeLine. The modern Fulton County Animal shelter currently houses 430 cats and dogs, with double that number in foster care, all looking for their fur-ever homes. This facility, triple the size of the prior shelter, provides more space for housing animals, a full-service clinic, and dedicated play yards, all designed to improve the quality of care and create an adoption-friendly environment. We even caught a glimpse of a spay and neuter procedure underway in the OR. Thankfully, they didn't need us to scrub in to lend a hand... or a paw. LifeLine had an impressive 1,557 adoptions in August, across all three of their shelters! I hope you'll join us as we work to improve the mental well-being of both people and animals by reducing shelter overcrowding. We have two volunteer events coming Shelley Hammell You'd be a DOGgone fool to miss out on these volunteer opportunities!Fulton Healthy Pet Event as part of the Pawsitivity Partnership with LifeLine September 27, 2025 10:00 am— 1:00 pm Come out and support our Pawsitivity Partnership with LifeLine's Healthy Pet event.
