We're tickled PINK that Christa Pitts is speaking on Monday!

MEET CEO. BRAND BUILDER. SPEAKER. CHRISTA PITTS

Imagine  being applauded for “revolutionizing the essence of Christmas.” This is precisely what American business woman and entrepreneur Christa Pitts is celebrated for.

NOW THAT, THAT IS A LEGACY.

Christa serves as co-CEO and founder of The Lumistella Company, a dynamic enterprise behind the enchanting brand, The Elf on the Shelf. Under her strategic leadership, more than 31 million The Elf on the Shelf brand Scout Elves, Elf Pets®, and Elf Mates® have been adopted in 26 countries across five continents, solidifying a massive global reach.

Considered an expert in branding, Christa’s journey began as a QVC Program Host, amassing 2,000 hours of live, unscripted television experience. During this time, she honed her expertise in understanding the mechanics of sales, the intricacies of advertising, and the significance of brand authenticity.

Don't forget to wear pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Think Pink on October 20

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I wanted to invite all members to join in showing support by wearing pink to our Monday, October 20th meeting. This can be a jacket, tie, dress, or even a splash of jewelry. Together, let’s support this important cause. To highlight this theme, we will hear from one of our newest members, Liz Loretti, Executive Director of TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation, who will be delivering her Sunshine Presentation. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn more about Liz while also honoring a cause that touches so many lives.

Pawsitively Making an Impact

A dedicated group of Buckhead Rotarians showed up this past weekend to support LifeLine’s Healthy Pet Event at Wade Walker Park. We helped people in the “happy dog” line complete their paperwork so their pets could receive much-needed veterinary care, completely free of charge. Nearly 1,300 pets and their people were seen by onsite veterinarians for services including:

625 Microchips

789 Distemper Vaccines

349 FVRCP Vaccines

1040 Rabies Vaccines

831 Spay Neutering Vouchers

This was a huge success with 160 volunteers and Buckhead Rotary was proud to be part of it. Thank you to Kari Kirkley, Jeff Clarke, Kathy Finn, Bill Gentner, Garth Peterson and Joe Hammell for your time, energy, and compassion in supporting this important community project. I am proud to share, Buckhead Rotary will be sponsoring the spring event, and we hope to see even more Rotarians join us to help us make a difference.

Volunteer Opportunity! October 18, Open Hand + Lifeline!

Pawsitivity Partnership with Buckhead Rotarians Delivering Pet Food with OpenHand AND OpenHand Tours Reservation

October 18, 2025 10:00 am— 12:00 pm

RSVP HERE

Lend a paw (or a hand) through our Pawsitivity Partnership bringing together Buckhead Rotarians supporting LifeLine's mission to keep pets with their people. We are delivering pet food to those in need. We will meet at OpenHand for an orientation and optional tour and then each carload will hit the road to help our furry friends and their people.  A tour of Open Hand's new facility will be offered to all volunteers who are interested.  That tour is also available to all Buckhead Rotarians and their guests who register as "Tour Only." Children and families are welcome.  Coffee and Good Measure breads will be available for everyone and for purchase (100% of sales go to funding OpenHand meals)!

And if this didn't sound like a reason to get out on a Saturday, we will be meeting afterwards at 12:00 pm at the Bold Monk for lunch and/or a beer (sorry, you will need to pay for your own food and beverages). Even if you aren't coming to deliver meals, meet your fellow Buckhead Rotarians and their guests for some Saturday cheer.

Open Hand, 1380 West Marietta St NW, Atlanta, GA 30318

Rotarians, please login first or you won’t have access to tickets and special pricing available only to Rotarians.

Use the first reservation block for yourself. To add a guest to your reservation, use the Add Person button.

For Rotarians, type the first few characters of the last name and then pick from the drop down list.
