Message the President: A New Year, A New Splash of Purpose

No Meeting on Monday: Happy 4th of July!

Welcome to a brand-new Rotary year, Buckhead! There's no better way to kick off than the moment above—teaching a Horizons Atlanta scholar to swim, one confident stroke at a time. That joy is what this year is all about. We're thrilled to name Horizons Atlanta (horizonsatlanta.org) as our newest signature project, joining our ongoing commitment to Lifeline Animal Project (lifelineanimal.org) and Shepherd Center Pathways (shepherd.org). We'll support all three throughout the year, with plenty of hands-on ways for every Rotarian to serve.

First, a heartfelt thank-you to Past President Shelley Hammell for an extraordinary year—her leadership built real momentum and grew us to 128 strong. Congratulations to Rotarian of the Year Kari Kirkley, whose tireless work drove remarkable success with Lifeline Animal Project, and to Michael Stimpert, recipient of the President's Award for twelve years of service as our Secretary—one of the quiet, essential forces behind our club's success. This weekend we celebrate the 4th of July and 250 years of American freedom, World Cup soccer festivities and the 57th Peachtree Road Race—the largest 10K in the world—lighting up the city. There will be no meeting Monday, July 6th.

Then join us Monday, July 13th to launch the new year with service in action: we'll stuff backpacks with school supplies for our Horizons Atlanta scholars and welcome speaker Ann Marie Bedtke, Executive Director of Horizons Atlanta. Come ready to roll up your sleeves, meet the mission behind our newest signature project, and start the year the Buckhead way. Bring a friend, bring your energy—and let's dive in. RSVP for Monday, July 13 here!
